CHARACTER ANALYSIS

Based on the Industrial Organization psychology and in collaboration with consultant psychologists, Buksh Foundation has developed a special component in its appraisal process to gauge the willingness to pay of clients by examining behavior and personality traits of the applicant, evident from the responses provided on the form. It analyses character dimensions like honesty, integrity, work orientation, self control, etc to ensure that Buksh Foundation chooses right and deserving clients and maintains portfolio quality. The tool divides clients into different categories based on the dimensions;

  • Category A: a less risky and ideal client to advance loan – loan is disbursed
  • Category B: relatively risky client to advance loan – loan is disbursed at relatively higher interest rate to offset the risk factor
  • Category C: relatively high risk client to advance loan but can be disciplined – loan is disbursed at a relatively higher interest rate to offset the risk factor
  • Category D & E; highly risky clients – loan application is rejectedIn the absence of a strong credit bureau, this model helps tackle issues related to;
    • Over indebtedness
    • Default
    • Portfolio delinquency
    • Multiple lending

In addition, this component has the additional feature human development; it is an experience itself for the targeted clients, helping them better understand themselves and connect with their ‘inner-self’. It makes them analyze their strengths and weaknesses and identify areas for improvement.

“Buksh Foundation’s application form was very interesting – made me contemplate on those aspects about my self, my personality that I never even thought of before.”
